Wrist Flexion Strengthening
Strengthens your wrist flexors and grip, building the foundation of hand and wrist stability that supports everything from yoga poses to daily tasks.
How to do it
- 1
Rest your forearm on a table with the palm up
The hand and wrist hang just beyond the edge so the wrist can move freely.
- 2
Hold a light weight in a loose grip
Small is fine. The point is control, not load.
- 3
Curl the wrist upward, then lower it slowly
The lowering matters as much as the lift, so take it at half the speed. The forearm stays down on the table throughout.
- 4
Repeat slowly for thirty to sixty seconds, then change sides
A smaller range is a good option if the end of the movement feels uncomfortable.
What to watch for
The forearm lifting off the table so the elbow starts doing the work. Keep it down, use less weight, and stop if the fingers begin to tingle.
Ways to adjust it
- Reduce range
Before you try it
Move within a range that stays comfortable. Stop if this brings on sharp pain, dizziness, or symptoms that travel down an arm or a leg, and speak to a clinician before repeating it.
One movement is a start. A session is the thing.
A few questions about your body and how it is today, and Vinys builds a session around it, including which movements to leave out.
