About Vinys

Adaptive movement therapy, built around clinical reasoning.

Vinys is a personalized movement system for people managing pain, stiffness, fatigue, recovery, arthritis, back pain, and chronic conditions. It does not hand every body the same class. It uses assessment, movement checks, and clinical logic to build a session for the body in front of it.

Each Vinys session is assembled from a structured movement model: what you are dealing with, how your body presents today, which movements are likely to help, which need adapting, and which should be set aside.

Why Vinys exists

Generic movement breaks down when the body is complex.

Most yoga, fitness, and wellness apps are built around content categories: back pain class, gentle yoga class, strength class, mobility class. That works for healthy bodies with predictable limits. It breaks down for people managing pain, fatigue, arthritis, recovery, hypermobility, flare-ups, neurological symptoms, or multiple conditions at once.

A person with knee osteoarthritis may also have low back sensitivity. Someone with Long COVID may need pacing before mobility. A person recovering from surgery may need reassurance, support, and a narrower range of options. The same movement can be helpful, neutral, irritating, or inappropriate depending on the person and the day.

Vinys starts from that reality. It treats movement selection as a clinical reasoning problem, not a content recommendation problem.

The Vinys clinical model

How Vinys builds a session.

Step 1

Assessment

Vinys collects context: conditions, affected regions, goals, pain behavior, energy, movement confidence, and previous limitations. This creates the first layer of your movement profile.

Step 2

Movement check

You answer through gentle movement. Region by region, Vinys looks at tolerance, range, irritability, fatigue response, asymmetry, and confidence. The goal is to understand how the body presents today, not to diagnose.

Step 3

Movement suitability

Every movement is evaluated against your profile. The same posture can be helpful for one person and one to set aside for another, depending on condition, energy, range, and symptoms.

Step 4

Session assembly

Vinys builds a balanced therapeutic session: release, mobility, activation, strength, breath, pacing, and rest. Condition-specific emphasis is added only after the session holds together as a whole.

Suitability legend

  • PrioritizeLikely useful for this presentation today.
  • IncludeAppropriate as part of a balanced practice.
  • AdaptUseful with support, range limits, or pacing.
  • DelayNot ideal today; revisit as things change.
  • Set asideNot appropriate for this body or context.

What Vinys considers

A session changes because the inputs change.

Condition profile

Back pain, sciatica, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, Long COVID, menopause-related changes, recovery, fatigue, and more.

Region and symptom behavior

Where the issue is, how it responds to movement, and what tends to irritate it.

Movement tolerance

Range, pressure, load, balance, transitions, and time under tension.

Energy and pacing

Especially important for fatigue, Long COVID, chronic pain, flare days, and recovery.

Support needs

Chair, wall, props, shorter holds, smaller ranges, and slower transitions.

Goals

Relief, mobility, strength, function, confidence, sleep, and easier daily movement.

Method influences

The disciplines behind Vinys.

Vinys is shaped by several disciplines, but they do not sit at the same level. One is the product's own logic, one is clinical governance, one is a named method influence, and one is a movement practice.

Product method

Clinical movement reasoning

Vinys uses a structured assessment and suitability model to decide what belongs in a session. This is the product's core logic: identify the movement presentation, choose appropriate inputs, adapt where needed, and progress gradually.

Clinical governance

Physiotherapy review

The assessment logic, movement ratings, progression rules, and exercise library are reviewed with a practicing physiotherapist. This keeps the method grounded in graded movement, pacing, load management, and individualization.

Method influence · Lee Albert, NMT

Integrated Positional Therapy

Lee Albert's Integrated Positional Therapy informs the balance-first approach: release what is overworking, support what is under-supported, and use comfortable positions before asking the body to do more.

Movement practice

Therapeutic yoga

Therapeutic yoga contributes breath-led movement, alignment awareness, pacing, and body attention. In Vinys, yoga is not a fixed sequence to perform; it is one movement language inside an adaptive clinical model.

Vinys clinical lead and physiotherapy review

Responsible for the clinical structure of the assessment, movement suitability logic, exercise adaptations, progression principles, and review of movement content. Reviewed with a practicing physiotherapist.

  2. 2

    Lee Albert, NMT

Creator of Integrated Positional Therapy and method advisor to Vinys. Lee's work shapes the positional-release and muscle-balance logic that helps Vinys decide when to release, support, adapt, or delay a movement. Read more about Lee Albert

    External references and movement influences

Physiotherapy guidelines, peer-reviewed literature, yoga anatomy resources, and therapeutic yoga teaching inform the wider educational framework. These are references and influences, not co-creators.

Evidence base

Grounded in movement science, clinical guidelines, and method lineage.

Vinys sits at the intersection of three evidence-informed ideas.

Idea 1

Movement is a first-line tool for many musculoskeletal conditions.

Guidelines for low back pain, sciatica, and osteoarthritis consistently support appropriate movement, self-management, and exercise. Vinys translates that principle into a guided, personalized format.

Idea 2

Movement should be matched to the person.

A movement is not inherently good or bad. Its value depends on the person's condition, tolerance, timing, range, load, and confidence. Vinys makes those variables explicit.

Idea 3

Releasing tension is not enough; the body also needs support.

Integrated Positional Therapy contributes the idea that overworking muscles often need release while under-supported areas need gradual activation. Vinys combines that logic with graded movement and therapeutic yoga.

Practice and anatomy references

Vinys also draws on functional yoga anatomy and alignment-informed therapeutic yoga teaching, including the work of David Keil (YogAnatomy) and the Jason Crandell Yoga Method. These sources inform how we think about breath, sequencing, joint position, and accessible practice design. They are references and influences, not clinical reviewers or method creators.

What Vinys is not

Not a diagnosis. Not a generic class. Not a challenge to push through.
